Paul Bonomini

Paul Bonomini is a British sculptor, born and based in London.

Bonomini’s work is driven by process; casting, forging and constructing pieces in a range of materials, including bronze, iron, concrete, glass, steel and more recently, 3D printed plastics.  One ongoing strand of artistic investigation explores the beauty and symmetry of The Platonic Solids, particularly the form of the cube, and interrogates the relationship between the human body and our physical environment. His carefully considered compositions are further informed by his professional expertise in Theatre Design.

Bonomini has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally. Deconstructed Cube Form I featured in the Time Space Existence exhibition at the Venice Biennale in 2018, and he was recently awarded Best Sculpture and Best Use of the Victoria & Albert Collection in the V&A Inspired By Competition, for his piece The Pardoner.

He is an elected and active member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and The London Group.

Subject to Change

6 - 12 January 2021

The Cello Factory, 33-34 Cornwall Road, London, SE1 8TJ

Subject to Change presents new works by the joint winners of The London Group’s prestigious President’s Prize, awarded to Paul Bonomini, Maybelle Peters and Linda Simon.

Bonomini will present Remnants, a site-specific installation re-purposing materials that once formed the fabric of a house, interweaving and suspending them within a tensioned elastic framework. The individual components were discovered by the artist through skip-diving, a process that is referenced and reflected by the abstracted images of skip contents that are projected onto the installation.

November 2021

Jeannie Avent Gallery, 14 North Cross Road, Dulwich, London, SE22 9EU

This exhibition unites four acclaimed bronze sculptors, united by an ongoing, collaborative practice of bronze casting together at a foundry in Hertfordshire. Bronze is not only a shared medium but a source of collective passion and the foundation for close personal and professional relationships.

Bonomini will present several small unique bronzes, created using the lost wax process.
